Chart Towards the Charms considers the physical landscape of the Hudson River, Riverside Park and Pier 1 as a fictional launching point for magical realist transportation.

The banners play on the idea of flying carpets, each one colorful and highly decorated with shapes and symbols from traditional carpets of South West Asia and North Africa, a nod to the carpets that decorated her childhood home. The texts on the banners use space and air travel terminology and are arranged to be read by walking the pier towards its terminus, ending with sky, river and cliffs in the distance, making a visual poem in communication with its setting.
